Coaching Opportunities Available
We are currently recruiting coaches for the following teams:
12u Team
The 12u team focuses on introducing players to more structured gameplay and refining basic skills. Coaches here will:
Teach fundamental techniques like hitting, fielding, and base running
Introduce game strategies appropriate for this age
Foster a love for the sport through positive reinforcement
14u Team
At the 14u level, players begin to develop more advanced skills and tactical understanding. Coaches will:
Work on improving player mechanics and decision-making
Guide players through competitive game situations
Build teamwork and communication skills
16u Team
The 16u team prepares players for higher levels of competition and potential scouting opportunities. Coaching responsibilities include:
Enhancing technical skills and physical conditioning
Developing mental toughness and game awareness
Prems Team
The Prems team is for the most advanced players, focusing on higher level of competition and skill mastery. Coaches will:
Lead more intensive training programs than the youth grades
Coach players with a wide range of abilities and ages
What We Look for in Coaches
We welcome coaches with a variety of backgrounds, from experienced mentors to enthusiastic newcomers. Key qualities include:
A genuine passion for youth sports and player development
Strong communication and leadership skills
Patience and the ability to motivate young athletes
Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment
Previous coaching experience is a plus but not required. Resources are available to help you succeed including courses from Baseball NZ.
